The Stock Is Hot
Hassan Whiteside (PF/C-Heat-43% owned)
Hassan Whiteside has been on a tear recently. Having spent some time in the D-League, he has now arrived as a fantasy stud. In the last seven days, he is averaging 16.0 points, 12.3 boards and an absurd 3.3 blocks per game. His upside is unquestionably high right now and he’s a guy you need snag before someone else in your league does.
O.J. Mayo (SG-Bucks-10% owned)
Owned in only 10 percent of leagues, O.J. Mayo should be picked off the waiver wire in most leagues. Most of Mayo’s value comes from the points category, but in addition to averaging 15.3 points in the last seven days, Mayo has knocked down 3.3 three-pointers and added 2.0 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks – while maintaining great shooting percentages. He is a solid option, primarily in points leagues.
Stock Is Cashed
Shabazz Muhammad (SF/SG-Timberwolves-27% owned)
Shabazz Muhammad’s stock in leagues has been dropping rapidly as of late. Owners have been dropping Mohammed like he’s hot in the wake of the news he will be out a few weeks with an abdominal injury. While owners were already presumably frustrated with his less-than-stellar shooting percentage in his last seven games, 40 percent from the field, the injury news adds more fuel to the argument that he should be discarded. He is droppable right now, especially to owners fighting for a playoff spot.
Tristan Thompson (PF/C-Cavaliers-33% owned)
For a short period, Tristan Thompson was putting up consistent double-doubles. This production has changed since Cleveland’s recent acquiring of Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov has stolen Thompson’s starting spot while also stealing almost all of his fantasy value. Thompson is droppable in almost all formats.
Undervalued Potential Blue-Chipper
Gorgui Dieng (PF/C-Timberwolves-59% owned)
Why is Gorgui Dieng only 59 percent owned in ESPN leagues? He is a top-notch athlete and has been producing at a high level consistently in the 2014-15 season. Dieng has been a contributor in every category averaging 10.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks 3.0 assists & 1.7 steals per game in the last seven days – while shooting a high percentage in both field goals and free throws. While Nikola Pekovic is rumored to be nearing a return, Dieng has still earned his minutes as a contributor. Dieng is a solid option in all formats.
