The Peek Ahead — Tobias Harris is blowing up

Tobias Harris

Each day after looking back on the games of the day, I will spend a little time having a ‘peek ahead’ of what to look for in the coming day’s games. I will name one player from each position who is likely to exceed their usual production given their upcoming matchup.

Victor Oladipo, PG/SG, Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers
What a difference a week makes. This time last week, Oladipo was languishing on the Magic bench, but since Big Baby Glen Davis got his walking papers, Oladipo has exploded and was my number one trade target last week. Against the disgraceful Sixers, can VO grab himself a triple double?

Courtney Lee, SG, Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers
Lee has really turned his season around since moving to Memphis from the Boston Celtics. He’s purely a scorer, but also gets steals and has really nice percentages. He’s also playing the Lakers.

Tobias Harris, SF/PF, Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers
Along with Oladipo, Tobias Harris is the big winner from the Glen Davis buy-out. He has every chance to put up numbers like he did last season post-trade deadline. A 20-12 game should be the target here.

Zach Randolph, PF, Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers
We all know the struggles of the Lakers and Z-Bo should be able to bully their weak front court.

Nikola Vucevic, PF/C, Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers
This could get ugly. Vucevic already has a couple of 20-20 games under his belt and could really blow up here. Add him in all DFS formats.

This section highlight players who are available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues and are a decent option if you are looking for a guy to stream in for a day to give you the edge in your matchup.

If you need points: Mike Scott, PF, Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics

With Paul Millsap sitting out again on Wednesday, Scott could have another nice game. He scored 12 on Tuesday against Chicago and should be getting 15-20 against a much weaker Celtics defense.

If you need threes: Danny Green, SG/SF, San Antonio Spurs vs Detroit Pistons

Over the last month, Green has averaged 2.1 made three-pointers per game and looks to have shaken off his early season slump. He needs to owned pretty much universally.

If you need rebounds: Elton Brand, PF/C, Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics

It’s unlikely that Pero Antic and Gustavo Ayon return for Atlanta, so Brand is going to get big minutes yet again. He’s been fantastic in that role and will add a lot to your fantasy squad.

If you need assists: Jarrett Jack, PG/SG, Cleveland Cavaliers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

It’s still unlikely we’ll see Dion Waiters back, so once again the Cavaliers need to rely on Jack. He’s averaged 5.3 dimes per game in the last two weeks.

If you need steals: DeMarre Carroll, SF, Atlanta Hawks @ Boston Celtics

I think Carroll should be owned in all leagues, so it’s no surprise I’m recommending him here. He’s going to have a bigger scoring responsibility as well with Paul Millsap out.

If you need blocks: Kyle O’Quinn, PF, Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers

O’Quinn has been superb in 20 minutes a game, averaging 1.2 blocks per game over the last month.
