The Peek Ahead – John Wall Will Light It Up

John Wall

Each day after looking back on the games of the day, I will spend a little time having a ‘peek ahead’ of what to look for in the coming day’s games. I will name one player from each position who is likely to exceed their usual production given their upcoming matchup.

John Wall, PG, Washington Wizards vs Philadelphia 76ers
Anything less than 20 & 10 would be a slight disappointment for Wall, and with his new found three point shot, he should be gunning for over 30.

Martell Webster, SG/SF, Washington Wizards vs Philadelphia 76ers
After going through a severe slump, Webster has bounced back lately and projects to have a big night against a Sixers team that can’t guard wing players.

Trevor Ariza, SF, Washington Wizards vs Philadelphia 76ers
Much like Webster, Ariza is in a great position to go off against a weak Philadelphia team.

Carlos Boozer, PF, Chicago Bulls vs Los Angeles Lakers
One of the most maligned players in the league, Boozer is still a viable fantasy contributor and is now the Bulls number one scoring option. We saw what Amir Johnson and Patrick Patterson did on Sunday and Boozer is a much better player than those two.

Joakim Noah, C, Chicago Bulls vs Los Angeles Lakers
Noah is a top 20 player in the past month, averaging 13 points and 13 rebounds in that stretch. With his proclivity for passing, I’m going out on a limb and predicting a triple double for the Bulls’ big man.

This section highlight players who are available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues and are a decent option if you are looking for a guy to stream in for a day to give you the edge in your matchup.

If you need points: Ramon Sessions, PG, Charlotte Bobcats vs Toronto Raptors

With Kemba Walker out, Sessions is a great addition off the wire, playing all the minutes he can handle.

If you need threes: Martell Webster, SG/SF, Washington Wizards @ Philadelphia 76ers

Webster is averaging three triples a game in his past four outings, meaning he is a fantastic option for Monday.

If you need rebounds: Al-Farouq Aminu, SF, New Orleans Pelicans @ Memphis Grizzlies

With the Pelicans reeling with injury and Jason Smith and Ryan Anderson both not playing, Aminu will be in prime position to snag a bushel of rebounds.

If you need assists: D.J. Augustin, PG, Chicago Bulls @ Los Angeles Lakers

Augustin is still around in many leagues and is proving to be the best Bull to give you assists.

If you need steals: Mario Chalmers, PG, Miami Heat @ Atlanta Hawks

Chalmers was dropped in a wide array of leagues whilst he was injured, but he is the unquestioned starter in Miami and is an elite ball thief.

If you need blocks: James Johnson, SF/PF, Memphis Grizzlies vs New Orleans Pelicans

Johnson is a top 40 player so far this season. Make sure you own him.
