GAMES ON TUESDAY 25TH FEBRUARY

Each day after looking back on the games of the day, I will spend a little time having a ‘peek ahead’ of what to look for in the coming day’s games. I will name one player from each position who is likely to exceed their usual production given their upcoming matchup.

MATCHUPS TO EXPLOIT

Kyle Lowry, PG, Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers
There’s no sweeter point guard matchup than the Cavs and there’s barely a hotter point guard in the NBA than Lowry. That equals fantasy gold.

Lance Stephenson, SG, Indiana Pacers vs Los Angeles Lakers
We all know how bad the Lakers are and they are matching up against one of the best teams in the NBA. His shooting is struggling at the moment, but the points, boards and assists are all there and the NBA’s leader in triple doubles is a good chance to rack up another one here.

Nicolas Batum, SG/SF, Portland Trail Blazers @ Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets are turning into a fantasy goldmine of late and are really struggling. Batum was fantastic last game out and with LaMarcus Aldridge likely to miss, more offensive responsibility falls to Batum.

David West, PF, Indiana Pacers vs Los Angeles Lakers
West’s last month has been superb, ranking in the top 50 whilst averaging 17.8 points per game. He should take advantage of the decimated Lakers lineup.

Roy Hibbert, C, Indiana Pacers vs Los Angeles Lakers
I hate Hibbert’s game from a fantasy perspective. I love him in real life, but it just doesn’t translate to the fantasy realm. Here is a chance for him to have a big game though.

PLAYERS TO PICK UP FOR SPOT START DUTY

This section highlight players who are available in more than 50% of ESPN leagues and are a decent option if you are looking for a guy to stream in for a day to give you the edge in your matchup.

If you need points: Mike Scott, PF, Atlanta Hawks vs Chicago Bulls

Scott has scored 50 points in his last two games and is really feeling it. Neither Pero Antic or Gustavo Ayon are expected back Tuesday, so Scott should get a big load of minutes.

If you need threes: Terrence Ross, SG/SF, Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Ross is underowned and has been hitting threes at a huge rate this season. He’s averaged 2.2 in the past month.

If you need rebounds: Thomas Robinson, PF, Portland Trail Blazers @ Denver Nuggets

T-Rob had a career night on Sunday and Aldridge is unlikely to play, meaning Robinson could go off yet again and a Nugget frontcourt flux.

If you need assists: Jarrett Jack, PG/SG, Cleveland Cavaliers vs Toronto Raptors

Dion Waiters still has no return dat, so Jack will continue to play big minutes. Although he’s been pretty bad, he can still drop five or six dimes quite easily.

If you need steals: Corey Brewer, SF, Minnesota Timberwolves @ Phoenix Suns

Brewer get steals. That’s just what he does. He has multiple steals in five of the last seven games.

If you need blocks: Elton Brand, PF/C, Atlanta Hawks vs Chicago Bulls

Brand has been superb since starting and has blocked five shots in the last two games. He’ll only really give you rebounds to go with the blocks, but if that’s what you need, Brand is a good option.
