Ep. 627: Here Comes The Money

Rajon RondoIn episode 627 of the Red Rock Basketball Monster Podcast brought to you by Fantrax and Fan Essentials, I’m joined by Aaron Bruski of Hoop Ball and we look at the beginning of NBA free agency.

Intro music is a song by Sex Karate, called Gender Queer while The Side Bets close out the show with Haven’t You Heard. CXLMBIA also contribute their song Don’t Go to the mix, as does Joe Hero with Formula Rock Song #1.

We discuss the big Al Horford signing, the Rajon Rondo move and all of the rest of the action across the NBA free agency landscape and how it may or may not affect fantasy.

  1. I don’t like Rondo as a person, but I think you guys hate him more than necessary. His Assist% to Usage % last year was better than any player (48% assist % and 18.8% usage; CP3 52.7% and 27.1%, Westbrook 49.6% and 31.6%)

I love Rose as a person and feel for him because of the injuries, but his +/- was way worse, his PER was worse, his usage was higher, he was injured more, his TS%, etc were all way worse. FT% really being the only thing he’s better in.

Do I love Rondo in Chicago? No. Do I think he’s better than Rose at this point? Yes, unfortunately.
